Children all over the world are born with cleft lips or cleft palates. For many of these families involved, safe surgery is not an option.
Doctors don't always know why a baby develops cleft lip or cleft palate, but many clefts are thought to be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Families who have babies and children with a cleft are often shunned from their community, leaving their children removed from school or taunted by other children.
The LEGOs YOU donate will be given to children by volunteers around the world as way to inspire creativity and smiles during international medical missions, where hundreds of families travel from near and far seeking medical care. LEGOs will be given to the communities in which we serve, to be played with and enjoyed.
We are pleased to partner with the Operation Smile global network of medical professionals, who donate hundreds of thousands of hours toward the care of children around the world each year.
Play is universal and so are smiles.
Let's build on this. We need your support.
